Dr. Brelonda R. Walker, DBH, LCMHCS, BCIM, NCC, BC-TMH is the founder and President of Integrated Holistic Solutions, PLLC. Dr. Walker is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in the state of North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina. With over twenty years of behavioral healthcare experience, Dr. Walker is also board certified in Integrative Medicine and as a Tele-Mental Health Provider.  She also supervises clinical graduate students completing internships from various universities and is an Assistant Professor of Psychology.

Dr. Walker provides therapeutic interventions for people with Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Grief and Loss, Career Transitions, ADHD, Insomnia, and a host of other psychological conditions. She is trained and certified in several modalities including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Advanced Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In addition to psychological conditions, Dr. Walker also treats clients for the psychological effects of chronic physiological conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Lyme’s Disease, Hypothyroidism, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Sleep Disorders, Diabetes, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Hypertension and many other autoimmune disorders. Dr. Walker collaborates with physicians in traditional medical settings and also works with clients at the Integrated Holistic Solutions’ Huntersville office. She provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions and integrates behavioral health care into medical settings to improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Walker received the Doctor of Behavioral Health degree from Arizona State University where she was inducted on both the national and state levels of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.  As part of her doctoral training, she completed an academic year long internship at the Lake Norman Community Health Clinic (LNCHC) under the supervision of medical director Dr. David Cook, MD.  Dr. Walker led the implementation of behavioral health services into the primary care setting at LNCHC.  She trained both medical and administrative staff on the assessment, diagnosing and treatments of comorbid behavioral health conditions seen in primary care settings.  While there, she also conducted a prevalence study on the frequency of depression in women with chronic fatigue.  Her findings led to an improved clinical care pathway for patients at LNCHC who displayed symptoms of either depression or chronic fatigue.

Dr. Walker also holds a Master’s of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is a professional member of the American Psychotherapy Association, the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, American Counseling Association, the Licensed Professional Counselor’s Association of North Carolina, and the Practitioner’s Alliance Network.  Dr. Walker holds Diplomat status with the American Association of Integrative Medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Walker enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  She is an avid reader of research publications on integrative medicine and enjoys sharing her knowledge on natural remedies and healthy recipes to aid the body in its healing processes.  Her passion for helping others is evident in all areas of her life.
